Historical facts about the property. The original property on this site belonged to Ubertino Lani (died 1281) and was then purchased by the local Cavalli family. Marie Louise of Austria, wife to Napoleon and Duchess of Parma, Piacenza and Guastall between 1814 - 1847, was once a guest here. Her host was Giacomo Cavalli, a local huntsman who then became Law Enforcer for the Duchy.
